Pantry Door Makeover

I finally got my Silhouette that I won from Skip to my Lou  giveaway!
I still can't believe I won! Yeah!
Since I  am so new at  the awesome Silhouette world, I decided to start doing something easy.
I always wanted to have a menu/grocery list board but since I don't have much wall space in my kitchen, I decided to turn my pantry door into one! ;)
I made the {PANTRY}, {menu} and {grocery list} signs using the Silhouette machine, the utensils rub-ons are from Michaels. I painted the two middle rectangles using PLAID black chalkboard paint.
I also made a fabric bunting and some rosettes to add some color!

The children are very excited about this new idea and I am happy that I won't hear the daily question "What's for dinner?"  :)
Now to come up with an idea for their school/GS/sports/parties/playdates schedule!
I will be back! :)
XO,
Cris

Recycle - TP pencil/scissors holders

LOVE, LOVE this project!
If you follow my blog, you know by now that I love to recycle things!
It is so much fun to make something out of nothing! I am reorganizing my craft room and trying to make my containers out of recycled items.
So, what you do with TP roll, cardboard box and scrap fabric?
You make this:

Material
TP rolls, cardboard box, fabric and hot glue gun

Glue the fabric around your cardboard box.

Glue the fabric around you TP roll.

Glue the TP rolls to the box and you are done! How simple is that?

This is how it looks in my soon to be craft room!
Take a sneak peak of what I have done so far and let me know what you thing! :)

School is in Session - Get Organized!

School is back in session! That means a LOT of paper with tons of info for the new school year!
I made the LET IT HANG  wall organizer last year and I have to say that this was one of my best/simple idea ever to keep my children's school assignments, doctor appointments, party invitations and so much more in one place!!
Click HERE for the tutorial for the Let it Hang Project.

During Summer we displayed their summer projects!

Back to school last week and already have a lot of paper on my Let It Hang wall!

My oldest daughter already had an assigment! She did great!

I also made a School Central Wall for their backpacks, lunch bags, pictures, school calendar/menu and  to show off any work they have done at school!

My daughter made this cute keychain for her backpack! She is crafty just like her mommy! :)

We are READY for a great school year!! How about you?

F{fork}, S{spoon} & K{knife} upcyle containers

I made these cute and functional silverware holders to match with my outdoor plate set. Another great project using recycled things!

This is how I used to store the set before I made the upcycle containers. It was always so hard to get the silverware out or in from the metal candy.

 Material
3 cans{I used large tomato sauce cans}, white paint, sand paper, nail/hammer, gems, modpodge, paper, brush, ribbon, beads, bead fix glue, pliers and wire

STEP 1
Make  a hole on each side of the can{for the wire}, paint, let it dry and sand it to obtain a rustic look.
STEP 2
Bend the wire and insert through one hole and secure it using the pliers.
STEP 3
Insert the beads and add a little bit of bead fix glue to them. After you are satisfied with you bead pattern, insert the wire to the other hole. Make sure you bend the wire to make a handle shape.

STEP 4
I printed the letters F{fork}, K{knife} and  S{spoon} and cut them on the same shape as the gems. Using ModPodge, glue the paper letters to the gem and let it dry.
STEP 5
Glue the letter gem to a ribbon and insert the ribbon through the handle holes. Glue the letter gem to the can.

STEP 6
I added extra beads to the center of each can.

I am very pleased with the way they came out and it is the perfect look for a pool side barbecue!
